The food was amazing! The salsa was super fresh, never had it that fresh from anywhere. My server was attentive and polite. My picky eater (daughter) didn't have any complaints so that says a lot. Best in the city hands down.
We popped in for lunch on Sunday for the first time as a halfway meeting point with family. I had a trio of super yummy street tacos 1 chorizo, 1 steak, 1 carnitas. It was proper, hot and tasted great. Service was swift and friendly. The place is huge so all your friends can join in. I'd go there again for sure.
We decided to try this place for lunch. The salsa was good so I had high hopes for the place. Sadly this was just not for me. I had ordered the mummy shrimp with a salad and rice for my sides. The mummy shrimp are supposed to be jumbo shrimp with cheese wrapped in bacon. They were medium-sized shrimp wrapped in bacon and no cheese. The "salad" was just stuff you put on a burrito. Shredded lettuce, a past its due date tomato, sour cream that tasted off, and guacamole. I thought it would of at least been a side salad. The rice was bland. There was no seasoning at all. Just some plain old rice so I didn't eat it. I will say that the wait staff were all nice and the place was very clean. I just would not come here for food again. Probably just sit at the bar for drinks and salsa.
Took food to go Food was flavorless literally most boring Mexican food I've had to date. AND ORDER of FAJITAS GOT NO TORTILLAS AT ALL . My son was very disappointed had to eat his food no tortilla to make a fajita.
Burrito order was two boring rolls of ground beef not even folded like a burrito. No flavor.
Street tacos has very little meat in them and very greasy tortillas but at least had tortillas.
Even the Horchata drink wasn't good and I'm an expert on Horchata I didn't even finish mine and was thinking when handed to be 20 oz is not near enough....most give you 32 oz as large but I didn't even drink it was not good Horchata.
I'm not a picky person but seriously it's Mexican food not hard to make and get it right. This place missed the mark big time...
Have ALWAYS LIKED THIS RESTAURANT, BEEN GOING FOR YEARS!THE OWNER IS KIND AND FRIENDLY, STAFF AS WELL!GREAT MICHELADAS,NACHOS AND SHRIMP COCKTAIL!MARGARITAS ARE ALSO GREAT!HAWAIIAN FAJITAS/NACHOS REALLY GOOD TOO!ATMOSPHERE IS LAID BACK AND LOVE THE DECOR!ALWAYS VERY CLEAN.HAS A BAR AREA.
The food is okay. The service is okay. Nice place overall but could use significant help if it ever wants to be in the same category as El Vaqueros. Just save your money and drive 4 more miles and treat yourself to El Vaqueros.
We stumbled on this place while in town. Loved the charm and ambiance of this restaurant. The staff was kind and helpful when asking questions about items on the menu. We enjoyed a half pitcher of margaritas. Perhaps some of the best I’ve had around. The price for the items was below what you would find anywhere else and the portions were big. No complaints only smiles and full stomachs. You will not be disappointed when you come and eat here. We’ll be back.
The food is always great and the service is always good. Plus the prices are reasonable or worth it. One of my favorite.
